Turn Signal Conversion Module
Convert Rear Turn Signals into Additional Brake and Running Lights
The Signal Dynamics Turn Signal Conversion Module allows your vehicle’s existing rear turn signals to function as:
- turn signals
- additional brake lights
- optional running lights
By converting the rear turn signals into combination brake and turn lights, the module helps increase rear lighting visibility and creates a much larger brake light signature during braking.

Additional Brake Light Functionality
When the brakes are applied:
- both rear turn signals illuminate as additional brake lights at full brightness
If a turn signal is activated:
- the selected side continues normal turn signal operation
- the opposite side remains illuminated as a brake light
Turn signal operation always has priority over brake light operation on the selected side.
This allows normal turn signal visibility while still increasing overall rear brake light visibility.
Optional Running Light Functionality
The Turn Signal Conversion Module also includes optional running light functionality.
When enabled:
- rear turn signals illuminate at approximately 50% brightness during normal operation
- turn signals and brake lights still operate normally when activated
The running light feature is disabled by default but can easily be turned on or off through built-in programming.
Running Light Programming
To change running light modes:
- power the module off
- power the module back on
- press the brake switch the specified number of times within 5 seconds
Running Light Modes
- 4 Brake Presses → Running Lights ON
- 12 Brake Presses → Running Lights OFF
The selected setting is stored in memory even when power is removed.
Important Brake Light Color Information
If rear turn signals are being converted into brake lights:
- the rear brake light color should be RED
Amber turn signals should be converted to:
- red lenses
- red bulbs
- red LED assemblies
This helps maintain clear brake light visibility and proper vehicle lighting appearance.
Simple Installation
The Turn Signal Conversion Module installs inline with your vehicle’s existing rear turn signal wiring.
IMPORTANT:
The left and right positive turn signal wires must both be cut in two and the module installed inline with the turn signal wiring.
Basic installation includes:
- locating the left and right rear turn signal wires
- cutting both turn signal wires
- connecting the module inline
- connecting brake light and power inputs
- mounting the module using the included adhesive pad or zip ties
Compatible with most 12VDC vehicle electrical systems.
Wiring Connections
Orange Wire
Connect to a key-switch-controlled fused 12V+ power source.
On motorcycles, the tail light or license plate light circuit is often a good power source.
Black Wire
Connect to a ground wire.
Red Wire
Connect to the brake switch wire or brake light wire.
This wire must have:
- 12V+ when brakes are applied
- no voltage when brakes are released
Violet Wire
Cut the LEFT positive turn signal wire in two.
Connect the Violet wire to the cut wire end leading toward the FRONT of the vehicle.
Brown Wire
Cut the RIGHT positive turn signal wire in two.
Connect the Brown wire to the cut wire end leading toward the FRONT of the vehicle.
White / Violet Wire
Connect to the cut LEFT turn signal wire leading toward the REAR turn signal light.
Provides 12V+ output to the rear left turn signal light.
White / Brown Wire
Connect to the cut RIGHT turn signal wire leading toward the REAR turn signal light.
Provides 12V+ output to the rear right turn signal light.
Load Equalizer Information
After installation:
- test turn signal operation carefully
If the turn signals:
- flash too quickly
- do not flash correctly
- do not flash at all
install the included load equalizer.
To install the load equalizer:
- match the wire colors on the load equalizer to the corresponding wires on the Turn Signal Conversion Module
- connect at the same connection points
