Alternating Brake Light Patterns Designed to Capture Attention

The Signal Dynamics BackOFF™ Wig-Wag™ Brake Light Module automatically flashes dual motorcycle brake lights in an alternating wig-wag pattern designed to help attract and maintain the attention of following drivers during braking.

This module is specifically designed for motorcycles equipped with two brake lights positioned side-by-side.

Instead of both brake lights flashing together, the Wig-Wag™ alternates the left and right brake lights back and forth in a highly noticeable attention-getting pattern during braking.

• combination LED/incandescent systems

Designed Specifically for Dual Brake Light Systems

The BackOFF™ Wig-Wag™ is intended for motorcycles with:

• dual brake lights
• side-by-side brake light configurations
• custom rear lighting systems with separate left and right brake lights

IMPORTANT:
Do NOT install this module on turn signals, as alternating turn signal flashing may confuse following drivers.

For best results we recommend connecting the module to only one pair of brake lights. The module is rated for up to 10 amps total load.

Two Selectable Wig-Wag Flash Patterns

Mode 1

When the brakes are applied:

• the left and right brake lights alternate rapidly back and forth 4 times
• followed by 3 short flashes of both brake lights together

The alternating wig-wag sequence then continuously repeats for as long as the brakes remain applied.

Mode 1 is ideal for riders who want maximum ongoing visibility while stopped in traffic or waiting at intersections.

Mode 2

When the brakes are applied:

• the left and right brake lights alternate rapidly back and forth 4 times
• followed by 3 short flashes of both brake lights together

After the sequence is complete, both brake lights remain steadily illuminated for as long as braking continues.

Mode 2 is ideal for riders who prefer an initial attention-getting alert followed by a more traditional steady brake light appearance.

Designed to Gain and Maintain Attention

The Wig-Wag™ flash patterns were specifically selected for their ability to attract and maintain the attention of following drivers without appearing random or erratic.

Many state driver handbooks recommend briefly flashing brake lights when slowing or stopping to help alert following traffic. The BackOFF™ Wig-Wag™ automatically performs this function every time the brakes are applied.

Simple Installation

The BackOFF™ Wig-Wag™ installs inline with your motorcycle’s existing left and right brake light wiring.

IMPORTANT:
The left and right brake light wires must both be cut and the module installed inline with the wiring leading to the rear brake lights.

Basic installation includes:

• locating the left and right brake light wires
• cutting both brake light wires
• connecting the module inline
• selecting your preferred flash mode
• mounting the module using the included adhesive pad

Compatible with most 12VDC motorcycle electrical systems.

Wiring Connections

Black Wire

Connect to a ground wire.

Red Wire / White Stripe

Connect to the RIGHT brake light wire leading toward the rear brake light.

White Wire / Red Stripe

Connect to the LEFT brake light wire leading toward the rear brake light.

Connect to the brake light wire leading toward the front of the motorcycle (brake switch side).

Orange Wire — Mode 2 Input

Connect to the brake light wire leading toward the front of the motorcycle (brake switch side).
