Correct Hyper Flashing and Turn Signal Problems After Converting to LED Turn Signals
The Signal Dynamics Dual Load Equalizer Module is designed to correct turn signal problems commonly encountered after converting factory incandescent turn signals to LED turn signals.
Many motorcycles use traditional mechanical bimetal flasher relays that rely on the electrical load created by incandescent bulbs to flash properly.
When incandescent bulbs are replaced with low-current LED turn signals:
- the relay may flash too quickly (“hyper flashing”)
- the relay may not flash at all
- the turn signals may remain continuously illuminated
The Dual Load Equalizer restores the proper electrical load required for the factory mechanical flasher relay to operate correctly.
How It Works
Traditional bimetal flasher relays operate by heating and cooling internally as electrical current flows through the turn signal bulbs.
Incandescent bulbs draw significantly more current than LED lights.
When LED turn signals are installed:
- electrical load is reduced dramatically
- the factory relay may no longer heat and cycle correctly
The Dual Load Equalizer adds an artificial resistive load back into the circuit to simulate the electrical characteristics of incandescent bulbs.
This allows the original factory flasher relay to continue operating at the proper flash speed.
Designed for One Pair of Turn Signals
Each Dual Load Equalizer is designed to stabilize:
- ONE pair (2) of turn signals
Examples:
- front pair only = (1) Dual Load Equalizer required
- rear pair only = (1) Dual Load Equalizer required
- both front AND rear converted to LED = (2) Dual Load Equalizers required
Universal Motorcycle Compatibility
Compatible with:
- most motorcycles using mechanical flasher relays
- incandescent-to-LED turn signal conversions

- many factory security/alarm systems
Works with most motorcycle makes and models.
Important Compatibility Notes
Harley-Davidson Security Systems
On some late-model Harley-Davidson motorcycles equipped with factory security systems:
- the security key indicator light may remain illuminated
However:
- the security system remains fully functional
- no damage will occur to the motorcycle or security system
Hazard Flasher Usage
Hazard flashers may be used continuously for up to approximately one hour.
Extended continuous hazard flasher operation can create significant heat buildup inside the module which may damage internal components over time.
Simple Installation
The Dual Load Equalizer installs by tapping into the motorcycle’s left and right turn signal output wires.
Basic installation includes:
- locating left and right turn signal output wires
- tapping the module into both circuits
- connecting the ground wire
- mounting the module securely
The included double-sided adhesive pad may be used for mounting.
For best results:
- mount to a flat metal frame surface
- avoid mounting near plastic panels, wiring bundles, or cloth materials
- avoid extreme heat locations
Wiring Connections
Brown Wire
Tap into the RIGHT turn signal output wire.
Violet Wire
Tap into the LEFT turn signal output wire.
Black Wire
Connect to a ground wire.

3 easy connections and DONE
The hardest thing about installing this product is deciding where to mount it. I simply made the three easy connections - one to each light and the third to ground - and VOILA... problem solved. I recommend this product to anyone who has the issue of fast blinking when switching from incandescent to LED lights.
