The AYN License Plate Frame Features
The “AYN Smart Module” Adds the Following Functions
How to Engage Different Functions
|HAZARD MODE - Turn your right turn signal on, apply your hand or foot brakes and turn your key switch off. When the hazard mode is turned on this way it will continue to flash until your motorcycle is turned back on. This mode will not work while your motorcycle is on for safety reasons.|
|TURN SIGNALS - The frame will give you additional turn signals that sequence from the center and outward for increased visibility while changing lanes or waiting to turn.|
How to Engage Different Brake Light Modes
The default mode that your AYN frame has is MODE A. If you would like to switch to any of the 4 braking flash patterns, simply press your hand or foot brakes the amount of times listed below ( 6x, 9x, 12x or 15x) immediately after you turn on your motorcycle. You will need to wait 10 seconds for the mode you've chosen to take effect.
Mode A - (Default)1 second rapid WIG WAG (back-forth on either side) then our patented BackOFF sequence (Three slow flashes - Steady for one second - Repeat). To engage: Press your hand or foot brake 6x immediately after you turn on your motorcycle. You will need to wait 10 seconds for this mode to take effect.
Mode B - 1 second rapid WIG WAG (back-forth on either side) then your brakes will remain steady on as long as you are stopped. To engage: Press your hand or foot brake 9x immediately after you turn on your motorcycle. You will need to wait 10 seconds for this mode to take effect.
Mode C - Steady on brakes (NO flashing) - This mode will most commonly be needed in the event that your state has a mandatory annual vehicle inspection or during group rides. To engage: Press your hand or foot brake 12x immediately after you turn on your motorcycle. You will need to wait 10 seconds for this mode to take effect.
Mode D - Continuous rapid WIG WAG (back-forth on either side) as long as you are stopped. To engage: Press your hand or foot brake 15x immediately after you turn on your motorcycle. You will need to wait 10 seconds for this mode to take effect.
To install, nest your license plate into your license plate frame, continue by checking to see that the 4 mounting holes all align correctly. The use of a round metal file may be necessary to ensure alignment prior to installation, if adjustment with a file is necessary minimal filing is required. It is recommended during installation not to pinch the wires against the sharp edge of your license plate, as this can cause the wire(s) to shred from vibration causing the LED light bar to lose functionality. Some license plates may need to be 'notched' for the wires to remain undamaged. The LED license plate frame has 3 wires in total. To ensure proper orientation, mount the license plate frame with the light bar on top and follow the wire color code below. If you choose to mount the plate with the LED light bar on the bottom, reverse the wire colors and connect the purple wire to your right turn signal and connect brown to your left turn signal.

Note: The brake input wire on the smart module must be connected to a brake only source. It can not be connected to a power source that is a combination brake and turn signal. If you have one bulb that functions as a brake and turn signal, you will need to run the brake input wire to the center brake light on the vehicle.
Note: The turn signal input wires on the smart module must be connected to a turn signal only source. It can not be connected to a power source that is a combination brake and turn signal. If you have one bulb that functions as a brake and turn signal, you will need to run the turn signal input wires to the turn signals located on the front of the automobile that do not have brake function.
Note: The AYN Frame and Smart Module consume a small amount of power when the key switch off. The amount of power consumed is comparible to that of your radio presets or less than your security system. If the bike is not going to be in use for an extended period of time (roughly 4-6 weeks) it is recommended to connect it to a battery charger.
Note: When testing the AYN Frame, apply orange wire to positive 12V source and black to ground. To test the brake light, apply the yellow wire from the AYN frame to a negative source, i.e. ground - the AYN frame yellow wire is actually looking for an absence of power to activate the brake light.

The quality and finish of this product is outstanding! The installation is simple and basic. Helps if you have a wiring schematic of your bike. I went the route of not using any connectors. All wiring points were soldered, and the wiring harness was protected with shrink tubing and electrical tape. It takes more time this way, but the installation looks as if it was factory installed. Everything worked as advertized, could not be more happier with this AYN plate. The brightness is fantistic, it's super bright! Gives me a lot of reassurance that I will be seen from the rear.
The length of the wiring in my application just was enough. Would have down graded the review to four stars if I came up short. Could see that problem happaning in other bikes. I highly recommend this AYN plate.
A special thanks to Porsha.

Longer wires would facilitate more mounting and connection options. You're gonna need some connectors, etc to complete the installation. I put a sleeve of heat shrink over the 3 wires from the frame where they run under the rear fender.
Super bright! The LEDs are more noticeable than the ones on my Harley and a friends Gold Wing.
The tech support is prompt and helpful.

This is a great product, super bright, and will really help me to be seen from the rear. I really like the integration with the turn signals, and hazard function when needed. The running lights really brightens up my ride. The white plate lights can be seen very well. My only complaint is that the wires from the Plate frame could have been a foot longer for my installation on a Yamaha V Star Silverado. Installation was straight forward, and I took my time to run the plate light wires up to the battery box. I followed the existing wiring route, and even purchased some clear plastic tubing to run the 3 wires thru to protect them from chaffing. I soldered and electrical taped everything into the existing bikes wiring harness for a really clean install. I also downloaded a wiring schematic for my bike, and used a volt ohm meter to verify everything prior. So it did take me longer to install then I originally planned. But this is a solid installation.
